The effects of not marketing your company online are enormous!

A company not advertising online does so typically because they don’t know what they are missing out on. This can come from a variety of reasons stemming from:

- Being in businesses for over 25+ years and having been established long before the Internet, leading to overconfidence in their existing marketing plan.

- Being a new upstart and just not knowing that it is the cheapest marketing they can get.

- Fear of change or something they don’t know about.

- Not knowing the potential outcome.

ManagedBranding is here to simplify all this, and show you how effective your marketing can be.

** Note we do not list the names of bad marketers so as not to be negative **

Scenario 1

45 Year old Electrical HVAC installation company

Gross Sales: $ 3,000,000 per year

Reason for having a very simple non marketed website: The founder of the company is convinced that all their business is from reputation and word of mouth.

Solution: In todays market place most of what he says is correct but when a company needs a 100K job to be done today they look online to get competitive quotes. This company is missing out on all this potential business. Back when they began over 70% of the annual business was from new customers. Those figures do not have to drop and in fact if they needed extra market they could always expand and or partner with Electrical companies in other regions.

Conclusion: This company is loosing from 30-50% of  the business they could get from the Internet or that they are loosing for looking too dinosaur like.

Scenario 2

New dance club in South Ontario

Gross Sales:  not open yet

They cut their website budget to the low price of $3,000 while construction of the interior costs over $700,000. Now the biggest aspect of a new night club is who comes and the DJ. This creates exciting synergy and people want to come back. The website is cheaper, louder and more useful than print, radio, and TV. All the mediums are great but per visitor much more expensive. A website pulls up on demand whether at home or on your iPhone or BlackBerry. When the viewer sees the website they can find out all the event for everyday the attire the DJs or Band and so on. A website is one of the most powerfull marketing tools a Night Club can utilize.

Conclusion: This club will miss a major marketing launch and first impression by cutting costs on their website development. This will hinder them if they survive for years to come as they will always be playing catchup.

Scenario 3

Bathroom and Kitchen Installation Company

This company has 2 owners and 4 employees.

Gross sales: $400,000

This company has a basic website with no marketing. They use it as an adjunct to their business card only. It is not found in the top pages of any Google search result and and provides limited information about the company. It is the founders's first website and they were afraid to spend anymore money to properly market it. What this in essence means is that they wasted most of the money they spent on the website as it will not generate new business on its own and it cant be found.

Conclusion: This company will miss out on lots of business and live on reputation alone as many contractors do.

Scenario 4:

Outdoor online clothing company Altrec.com
Gross sales: unknown
Search engine ranking: very high

This company is mean and lean and is competing against physical stores head to head. Its regular merchandise is 30-50% off store prices.   They do not stock inventory and they ship very quickly. The regular stores need to have a composite where they have online and offline sales and gear information and reviews. The also never run out of stock as many physical retails do on purpose when it comes to outdoors gear. Just try getting a quality North Face down jacket in a medium in mid December.

Conclusion: This is a tremendous company and business model and slow moving companies should pay attention.
